IFS for Insomnia helps you befriend the parts keeping you awake so you can soothe them to sleep.
The IFS for Insomnia Course will shift your focus from what is keeping you awake to who inside of you is keeping you awake.
✓ 8 modules designed for insomnia + 1 optional intro to Internal Family Systems (IFS)
✓ Blended learning process of experiential and cognitive so that you can both understand and internalize the material
✓ Optional add-on: 1:1 IFS-based sleep coaching to deepen your learning
You’ve tried everything to get better sleep
By now, you know what doesn’t work, what sometimes works, and what you have to do every day if you want any hope of sleeping at all (blackout shades or an eye mask, earplugs or a noise machine, limited or no caffeine).
When you struggle to sleep, it becomes an obsession. Something to fix. Something to take care of. You feel like you have to follow a rigid protocol and set of rules.
The hard truth is that obsessing about sleep is often the very thing that prevents us from getting good sleep. In IFS – also known as parts work – we don’t see sleep challenges as something to band-aid with “fixes”. We see it as a message from our nervous system that some part of us needs attention and healing.
With IFS, we assume there’s actually a really good reason a part of you feels it’s not ok to sleep. Let’s explore that together with the IFS for Insomnia Course.
You’re an expert on what keeps you awake, but you still can’t sleep.
Imagine if you could…
✓ Go to bed confident you will fall asleep and stay asleep
✓ Fall asleep with ease, even on nights that you don’t follow your protocols
✓ Feel comfortable sleeping away from your controlled home environment
✓ Shrug off a “bad” night (or week) of sleep and get on with your day
… and stop revolving your life around your sleep needs for fewer complications and greater flow
The IFS for Insomnia Course
IFS for Insomnia is a practical, self-paced course that guides you to your personal manual for deep, nourishing, and reliable sleep.
About the Course
-
Bring curiosity to your insomnia. Let’s begin with an experiential exercise around sensations as messages, and start to hear from your system about what it needs.
-
We learn about the science behind self compassion and what that means in parts work. We’ll put it into practice with an experiential exercise to learn what compassion feels like and offer it to our parts.
-
Explore attachment theory and IFS as “attachment taken inside.” We’ll deepen this learning with an experiential exercise on what secure attachment between our Self and parts is like.
-
What does feeling “calm” really mean? And what are some of the possible paths to get there? In this module, we talk about grounding techniques and do an experiential exercise around feeling sturdiness inside.
-
Let’s talk about the science of creativity and externalization. Explore this further with an experiential exercise around creation of your own safe space inside. Bonus art homework to deepen your relationship to your parts!
-
Learn about what courage is (and isn’t), how to listen for consent from parts, and the importance of not forcing deeper work before your system is ready. Make the most of this with an experiential exercise around feeling what consent is like in your body for your parts.
-
Clarity and integration play such an important role in healing work. Let’s talk about it, and put it all together with an experiential exercise in being with your sleep parts team.
-
The final module explores what confidence actually is vs what we are often taught it is. Finish the program with an experiential exercise on self-trust and what next steps feel right for you.
-
Since people come to this course with different levels of knowledge about Internal Family Systems (IFS), this module is for folks who are new to IFS or who would like an IFS refresher. It review what IFS is, what it’s been used for, and includes my personal story about healing my insomnia with IFS.
-
You will encounter your sleep parts throughout IFS for Insomnia. Depending on what you find, you may want additional support. Once you have completed the program, I’m offering a 1:1 session at a reduced rate. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, deepen your learning, and put what you’ve learned into practice.

Hi, I’m Katie LaCelle
Leadership Coach & IFS Practitioner
I work with all the high achievers, people pleasers, and caretakers who feel ready for a change but don't know how to get there. After struggling with insomnia for my entire life, 2022 was the first year I no longer identified as an insomniac.
There’s so much relief that comes with no longer obsessing about sleep. I can’t wait to show you how IFS can help you meet, befriend, and soothe your sleep parts so that you can feel that relief, too.

I hold 1:1 IFS Coaching sessions over Zoom. Sessions are available Monday - Friday between 8am-5pm Eastern. I will make limited exceptions for folks in other timezones if agreed upon in advance of purchase.
IFS Sessions are intended to be held after the course has been completed. Sessions must be used within 120 days of purchase - scheduling them in advance is highly recommended, especially if you have a busy schedule.
During the 1:1 session we will work with a sleep part (or group of sleep parts) to understand what they need and support them into possibly changing what they are doing around sleep (if they are ready). While it is not guaranteed, it is very typical to be able to do deeper work with an IFS professional to hold the space.
-
IFS focuses on integrating different parts of the self – you’ll recognize each part's role and address conflicts within. Unlike CBT for insomnia, which targets specific thoughts and behaviors, IFS delves deeper into the underlying emotions and experiences. This approach is particularly effective for insomnia as it helps you understand and manage your internal conflicts and emotions that are keeping you awake.
